DROP defence ®

HOW IT WORKS

DROP defence ® is an anti UV ophthalmic protective solution, based on Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin E TPGS, MSM, amino acids, and Hyaluronic Acid 0.1%. It acts as a shield for the ocular surface against UV and blue light, and improves ocular surface lubrication, contributing to corneal epithelium protection, against different stress sources. Sodium Hyaluronate mechanically interacts with the tear film mucin layer, retaining water and promoting longer stability of the ocular surface. The amino acids’ synergic action has a nourishing effect on the ocular surface (in addition to regulating pH and tears osmolarity), improving epithelial protection against stress caused by UV and blue light. Vitamin E TPGS promotes ocular surface wettability. The ophthalmic solution has a shielding, protective and antioxidant action against UV damage, and accelerates the natural repairing processes.

DROP defence ® is a unique and certified Personal Protective Equipment that protects, cornea, crystalline and retina against UV radiation, blue light, artificial light sources and prolonged sun exposure, preventing damages like photo-keratitis, photo-keratoconjunctivitis, cataract and AMD.

DROP defence ®:

SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN

The combined protective effectiveness of DROP defence ® against UV and blue light was evaluated in an in vivo study, showing a highly protective effect against oxidative processes on aqueous humor and crystalline, secondary to UV exposure (with irradiation of 100 mW/cm2), while protecting the retina against photo-oxidative damage.
