The action of Laurel maintains physiological levels of antioxidant markers and protects the eye structures from oxidative stress. The antioxidants present in the bay leaf perform a scavenging action of free radicals and inhibit the processes of lipid peroxidation. The formulation enhances the activity of ascorbic acid and α-tocopherol while reducing the presence of GSSG, H2O2, and MDA.
