Visco-surgical devices for intraocular use, based on the exclusive new Chemical Entity Ribohyal. They are used to create and maintain the anterior chamber space and protect endothelial cells during the procedures.

INDICATIONS

Improved visualization & protection

Viscorib 1.0 and 1.5 are used in ocular surgery as adjuvants to enhance contrast in anterior chamber surgery for improved visualization thanks to their coloration.

Viscorib 1.0 and 1.5 can be used in the following operations:

  •  Cataract surgery with or without IOL implantation
  •  Glaucoma surgery
  •  Corneal surgery

ADVANTAGES

The NCE Ribohyal® (HAr) is synthesized by covalently binding riboflavin to hyaluronic acid's COOH and OH groups. Having less OH groups in the NCE makes it resistant to a fast hyaluronidase enzymatic degradation. This provides several advantages:

  • better maintenance of spaces during the procedures
  • visually distinguishable from the vitreous due to its color
  • its color allows to visualize the edge between the endothelium and the anterior chamber, avoiding risky maneuvers on the endothelium by the surgeon
